René Alderliesten

Réne Alderliesten has 15 years of research experience in fatigue and structural integrity of aeronautical structures at the TU Delft. Initially, the research focused on metallic and FML structures, but in the past years the research has expanded to structures made of fibre reinforced polymer materials. The main theme in the research has been the experimental characterization of damage initiation and formation with in conjunction the development of mechanistic models to predict this initiation and growth. At the 2011 Symposium of the International Committee on Aeronautical Fatigue and Structural Integrity he received the Jaap Schijve award for his research in the field of “Fatigue and Damage Tolerance”.
